Just a quick add on did a ls -l and it shows the owner as root, that is not correct is it??
do you run the bbs as root?
file permissioms are versatile so whoever owns stuff might not matter depending on the permissions.. e.g
usr grp oth
rwx --- --- root root = root only no matter what
rwx --- --- a123 users = a123 user only ..
rwx r-x --- a123 users = a123 and all people in 'users' can read, run,
if it's a folder, can enter, no write for users rwx rwx rwx root root = free for all
that said the default for linux for new files is (iirc):
rwx r-x r-x .. etc so owner can do everything and everyone can read and use the files but not delete or modify them or add files (for permissions on folders). meaning mystic shouldn't have a problem reading them by default.
does the 'view file' function work for text files? that would also indicate mystic can read them and it might be an xfer error
