I've always posted once a day in the BBS ADS echoes across FTNs; but I wouldn't mind switching to once a week if everyone did, or if it were an FTN rule...

I just do what the rest of us do.

Be brave, start a trend that your bbs add goes out only once a week.

Off the 600 area's on this system that have 8000-10000 message limit's the bbs add area's are either set to 50 or on pass through due to
the spamming of a single bbs's add.

I post every other day or around that.. I do it on different networks, if everyone is doing it once a week then I can change my script. Otherwise, do like me, unjoin that echo and skip right over it.. :)

Agreed. On the slow networks, even once a week is meh.
That was just an aside. Every day is a flood.

I also agree with that. Daily makes no sense to me. In fact I see it
as a detractor for calling that BBS.

Woo! After annoying the testing echo for a while, I have now made this problem _worse_!

Well, okay, not really; I've set up my holiday calendar to post a different ANSI every day in the BBS Ads group. And hopefully it's _mostly_ automated, now.

But I still like that this complaint was the proximate cause for me to do it.

And, to be fair, I'm not aiming for it to be a good advertisement; I just like the idea of having a daily post to the ANSI base, where it's different every day.

If anyone else has 370+ appropriate, self-made ANSIs lying around and is running a Mystic BBS, I can offer tips if you want to do something similar.

No complaints here! A different ANSI each day is cool and gives me a reason to check out the echo. It's the ones that are the same ad every day that aren't great.

I appreciate it, and yeah, it'd be lovely if people posted random ANSIs, and also lovely if the people who _did_ post ads frequently could wind up with a wider variety of ANSIs.
