The config was handy so I am not sure what it could not find.
If you were pulling from github and compiling yourself, it was probably looking for 'mygolded.h', which per the first step of the compile instructions you need to edit 'mygolded.__h' to personalize it, and rename it to 'mygolded.h'.
While I don't have experience with this, if you were using Windows binaries, whatever file it's looking for should probably be in the same directory as the executable, unless you specifically run golded and specify where your config file is located on the command line.
Also, actually editing the config file and making sure paths and whatever else is correct is also helpful, as it may not successfully run with the default config.
