On Linux, I use Geany as generic GUI text/script editor. Give it a try.

I'll try it out. Thanks for the recommendation.

Mainly IrfanView and Notepad++. So far I haven't found a lightweight image

Dang, IrfanView is some SRS BSNS, they've even put it on snapcraft.io/irfanview

What is "SRS BSNS"? (Serious business?)

And IrfanView has been around for a long time.. I've been using it since around 2002, maybe? After 24 years, I'm very used to using it. :)

Have you seen Nomacs(.org)? There's also XnViewMP and gthumb, that I saw...

I've installed XnViewMP, although I haven't used it a whole lot yet. And I haven't seen Nomascs or gthumb..

For Notepad++ replacement, DM's recommendation of Geany is good. Also, if you have plenty of resources, Sublime Edit can be pretty nice. I know there's a paid version, but I just use the free one and haven't run into any roadblocks. I use Geany on my shitty AMD A6 laptop with 4gb ram :).

I plan to try it out. :)

Yes :). Yeah, I knew Irfanview has been around forever, since the 90s I think, but I guess I don't really get what the big deal about it is. Is it keybindings for flipping through images? Is it features to edit images? I've always used specifically image "editing" apps vs image viewers to make any modifications.. With the exception of the Windows Image Viewer, it made it super easy to flip images right-side up.. you just do it, and it resaves the image that way whether you wanted it to or not :).

For the text editor, I mentioned Sublime Text or Sublime Edit or whatever it's called because you were talking about liking JSON conversion, which it does.
