FamilyNet is shutting down

The technology is old, the software is old, the equipment is old.

The system is rebooting every hour...

It is no longer worth the cost (in time and dollars) to keep the BBS and FamilyNet running, so - I will be shutting down the BBS and the Fidonet Technology FamilyNet network sometime over the weekend (or early next week).

I want to thank all of the users for their support over the years, as well
as the Network members that stayed until the end. I pray you have a fruitful life.

I am going to devote all my attention now to the FamilyNet Internet
ministry.

It's inevitible, Jon. As you're a member of the network I started.. Someday there might be a point of demise or someone else taking it over..

For your info, though.. I will never let it die. :)

I'm more than amazed on what it's become, though. I didn't think we'd EVER have over 40 nodes connected. So, thank you to the members of Agoranet that actually pay attention to the messaging aspect of it.

*** This network was started because other "othernets" failed to deliver to my standards. (Sorry, but that was the real reason. -- The fact that I was a former ansi artist and Mr. Hawk Hubbard talked to me on the RIGHT day... we formed th is network. I probably wouldn't have done it without Hawk. I didn't give a shit about ACiD recognition, I've releaswd in acid and ice packs before.. I'm at one of those stages where I don't give a flying fuck. BUT -- I want a GOOD network, where noone bitches, complains, cries, whacks their pud.. whateer.. it doesn't matter.

THIS NETWORK IS FOR THE RESPECT OF THE CODERS AND ANSI ARTISTS THAT STILL SUPPORT THIS HOBBY.

If you have a problem with it, by all means, send me a netmail or private message..

OMGLOLWTF.

BTW, I'm a better worker than you all would hope to be. :D
